A Presidential spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu has said that contrary to reports in some quarters, President Muhammadu Buhari had an engaging week devoted mostly to policy issues, not ceremonial events.

Shehu, who is the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, said this in Abuja on Sunday. The presidential aide was reacting to media reports insinuating that the presidency had heavily cut down President Buhari’s workload since his return from London on March 10, to allow him rest.

The reports said the President “has spent just about three to four hours in office since his return to Nigeria’’, adding that “the president has not attended any event outside the Presidential Villa since his return.’’

Findings by SR indicated that Dino never graduated from the department of geography in ABU.

The report also states that the DSS was alerted over this but that the security agency covered it up and allowed Dino continue parading himself as such, for whatever reason.

A journalist working with the British Broadcasting Corporation has aired her seeming disaffection with the decision of the Nigerian Senate to reject the confirmation of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu.

After a lengthy period of screening of Mr. Ibrahim Magu by the Red Chamber, a majority of the lawmakers rejected his confirmation for a second time.


Senate Walks Out Hammed Ali, Asks Him To Come Back In Customs Uniform

The Senate today walked out the Customs Comptroller General, Hammed Ali from its chambers for not wearing uniform as directed. He was asked to return next Wednesday, March 22 in uniform.

Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekeremadu had earlier queried the Comptroller General for not wearing his official uniform.

Responding, Ali said the letter inviting him did not request that he should appear in uniform.

Recovered Dollars: Court Sends Andrew Yakubu To Prison

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered ex-NNPC boss Andrew Yakubu to be remanded in Kuje prison pending the determination of his bail application on March 21.

He was on Thursday arraigned on a six-count charge of fraud before Justice Ahmed Mohammed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after he admitted owning over $9.8 million cash found in a house that also belongs to him in Kaduna State.

He pleaded not guilty. He would be in prison till next Tuesday when the case resumes.

Breaking: Kwakwanso, 10 Kano State Lawmakers Dump APC for PDP

Former Governor of Kano state, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has, Tuesday, reportedly defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, party to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. According to reports not yet authenticated, Senator Kwankwaso defected with 10 Kano state lawmakers.

His defection may not be unconnected with his ordeals in the ruling party.

Recall that in March last year, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kano State chapter had initiated moves to suspend him over what it termed anti-party activities.

The then chairman, Kano chapter of the party, Alhaji Haruna Umar Doguwa, had told newsmen in Kano that the senator had, during a visit to the state, allegedly exhibited actions capable of compromising the party’s unity. According to Doguwa: “The case of party indiscipline by Kwankwaso would be thoroughly investigated and dealt with in accordance with the constitution of our party.”
